📝 AGM Highlights – May 8, 2025
  • Constitution, bylaws, and mission/vision/values were formally approved
  • 💰 Financial position is strong and stable
  • 🏓 A successful year included:
    • Expanded league play
    • New venue at Knights of Columbus Hall
    • Over 100 members
2024–25 was a time of growth and change. We now have:
  • Clear membership categories
  • A unified email system
  • A new website and communications approach (Facebook, emails, newsletter)
  • Strong volunteer support
🏛️ Major milestones:
  • Quarterly financial reports
  • Transition to electronic payments
  • Stronger governance through written policies
  • An additional indoor venue (KofC Hall)
🎯 Challenges ahead:
  • Space and time for play remain limited
  • Waitlists expected due to capacity limits

Pembroke Pickleball Club Winter winners
🔸 League Play 2024–25

This year’s indoor Pickleball League ran from October 6 to April 30, welcoming players ranked 2.75–3.25. Hosted at both the Pembroke Pentecostal Tabernacle (Fridays) and Knights of Columbus Hall (Mondays), 20 players competed in this 7-month inaugural activity.Rankings were based on win percentages. The final standings were:

  • 🥇 Kevin Strachan – 74.26%
  • 🥈 Terry Lindenbach – 68.75%
  • 🥉 James McCluskey – 68.39%
    Top Female: Mindy Lorbetskie – 56.02% 👏

To wrap up the season, an End of League Fun Night & Potluck was held May 12. A fun mixed doubles tournament capped the evening, with Jerry Plante & Rosemary Donnelly taking top honours after an exciting final against Sherri Phannenhour & Paul Arends. Great games and even greater camaraderie!

Looking ahead to Fall/Winter 2025–26, anticipation is high with returning players and new participants ready to take part!

  • AED on Site: Thanks to Pastor Paul Perry, we now have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) accessible for our use in case of emergencies at the Pembroke Pentecostal Church

📣 Want to become AED certified? The 6-hour course covers:

  • CPR, choking, opioid overdose (naloxone), seizures, heart emergencies, and AED operation
  • Valid for 3 years

🛡️Safety Reminders — Excerpt from New Member Orientation

  • Wet or icy outdoor courts = no play
  • Bring cell phone, hydrate, wear hats/sunscreen/UV clothing
  • Safety glasses are strongly recommended
  • Never run backwards—turn to chase a lob
  • Call out “Ball on court!” if it enters another game
  • Stop play if someone falls
  • Proper court shoes are essential (indoor vs. outdoor shoes diff er)
